Terms of Use

The rules for using Your Legal Team, what the analytics are, and what they are not.

Last updated 15 September 2026Version 1.0Governed by the law of New South Wales

1. These terms

These terms govern your use of yourlegalteam.com.au, a marketplace operated by JurisTechne Pty Ltd ("JurisTechne", "we", "us") of UTS Building 3, Level 4, 15 Broadway, Ultimo NSW 2007. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms and explains how we handle personal information.

2. What the platform is

Your Legal Team indexes published Australian court and tribunal judgments and presents, for each legal professional named in them, the matters they appeared in, the orders made, and where the outcome fell within the range available to the court. Every figure links to the decision it was drawn from.

The platform does not recommend, endorse or rank professionals by merit. It reports what the public record shows and leaves the judgment to you.

3. Not legal advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice, and using it does not create a lawyer-client relationship with us or with anyone listed. Outcome data describes past matters, decided on their own facts. It does not predict what will happen in yours. Decisions about representation or strategy should be made with a qualified legal practitioner.

4. The data and its limits

We take the record from judgments as published, and we aim for accuracy, but you should be aware of what the record cannot show:

  • Matters that settle, are discontinued or are not published do not appear.
  • A professional may have appeared as junior counsel, as instructing solicitor, or on limited interlocutory steps, and the judgment may not distinguish those roles.
  • Outcomes reflect the case a court was asked to decide, not the difficulty of the instructions.
  • Suppressed, de-identified or restricted decisions are excluded, so some practice areas are represented more thinly than others.

We correct errors of matching and attribution when they are reported. We do not alter the substance of a published decision.

5. How we are paid

Search and comparison are free for clients. We are paid by the legal professionals listed on the platform, in two ways, and both are disclosed on the page where they apply:

  • Referral fees. Where a client contacts a professional through the platform, we charge that professional a referral fee. The first ten referrals to any claimed profile are free; the fee and its terms are set out in the professional's subscription agreement before any charge is incurred.
  • Sponsored placements. Some listings are paid placements, labelled as sponsored wherever they appear.

Neither payment changes organic ordering, outcome figures or the underlying record, and a referral is never presented as a recommendation. We do not charge clients, and we do not sell client information to anyone who has not been sent an enquiry at the client's direction.

6. Accounts and the waitlist

Search will be free to use. Joining the waitlist means we may contact you about launch, features and alerts you have asked for; you can unsubscribe at any time. Where an account is created you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Paid features, if introduced, will be offered on separate terms disclosed before purchase.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Scrape, bulk-download or systematically copy the platform or its data, or use it to build a competing dataset.
  • Use the platform to harass, defame or intimidate any person, including any listed professional.
  • Misrepresent our data, including by presenting a figure without the decision it came from.
  • Attempt to identify parties, witnesses or children protected by a suppression or non-publication order.
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the site.

8. Listed professionals

Profiles are compiled from public judgments and do not require consent to publish. If you are a listed professional you may request correction of an attribution or matching error, and you may supply practice details for display. Requests are handled under our Privacy Policy. Claiming a profile does not give you the ability to remove adverse outcomes.

9. Intellectual property

Judgments are public documents and remain the property of the issuing court. Our compilation, analytics, interface, branding and the JurisTechne and Your Legal Team marks are ours. You may cite and link to our pages; you may not reproduce substantial parts of the platform or its analytics without written permission.

10. Consumer guarantees and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes any right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to those rights, the platform is provided as-is: we do not warrant that the data is complete or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any decision you make about engaging a legal professional. Where liability can be limited, it is limited to resupplying the service or the cost of doing so.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or withdraw access where these terms are breached, where use threatens the platform's integrity, or where required by law. You may stop using the site, and ask us to close your account, at any time.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the current version and its date appear on this page, and material changes will be notified to registered users before they take effect. Questions: JurisTechne Pty Ltd, UTS Building 3, Level 4, 15 Broadway, Ultimo NSW 2007 · 1300 090 991 · legal@yourlegalteam.com.au
